Abu Dhabi Grand Prix What to Watch

When does the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix get underway? The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is broadcast on which channel? F1i's race preview contains the answers to all of that and more.

This is what it all boils down to. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will see Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg square off for the 2016 Formula One drivers' championship. Rosberg enters the race as the overwhelming favorite, and if the German places on the podium, he will win the title for the first time.

The triple world champion Hamilton is aware that third place is the minimum acceptable result. Hamilton won the title at the Yas Marina Circuit two years ago, but as we have seen numerous times, title deciders can produce a lot of drama. Will Rosberg take advantage of the situation or go cautiously, which would allow Hamilton to gain an advantage?

In addition to the championship final, Abu Dhabi is the final race in Felipe Massa and Jenson Button's Formula One careers (though the latter maintains that he may only be taking a year off from racing for McLaren) and Nico Hulkenberg's final Force India grand prix before joining Renault.

Since Rosberg's triumph at Suzuka, Hamilton has dominated the field, winning three straight races to advance to the final round without making a mistake. He may have given his finest performance in Brazil's rainy conditions, where he even faced the formidable Max Verstappen. Mercedes is still threatened by Red Bull, but it would be wise to get closer in Abu Dhabi and will probably face off against Ferrari. If its performance in Bahrain earlier this year is any indication, Haas could do well, but Force India is probably going to have the advantage over Williams once more.

WEATHER FORECAST

After the thrill of Brazil, I'm sorry to disappoint if you were hoping that the weather might affect this weekend's race. With temperatures in the upper 20s predicted for all three days, Abu Dhabi is still one of the most dependable races on the calendar in terms of weather. The stable weather indicates that temperature reductions will stay constant throughout the weekend, even if FP2, qualifying, and the race all take place around nightfall.
