Formula One United States Grand Prix 2021 What to Watch

The 2021 Formula One World Championship has just six rounds left, and with just six points separating the top two drivers, there's a real chance that the race for the title will go all the way to the end of the season.

This weekend's United States Grand Prix, which returned to the Formula One calendar after being absent due to the epidemic last year, will be the next clash. The Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, where over 40% of the circuit was resurfaced during the off-year, is hosting it once more. There will be bumps on the surface because the asphalt is so fresh in certain places.

The 3.43-mile track is still set up the same way. There are twenty corners in all, some of which are reminiscent of corners from previous and current Formula One circuits. This circuit is extremely difficult for teams and drivers because it has more fast corners than Spa-Francorchamps and more slow turns than the Hungaroring. Turn 1's uphill hairpin, however, is clearly COTA's hallmark corner.

Although the prediction for Austin for this weekend indicates that we should have pleasant and fairly mild weather over the weekend, unpredictable weather can still be a problem here. The C2 is the P Zero White hard tire, the C3 is the P Zero Yellow medium tire, and the C4 is the P Zero Red soft tire, according to Pirelli's tire nomination for the weekend.

Sebastian Vettel of Aston Martin will start at the rear of the field because his car is getting a new power unit, it has been announced ahead of the race. Fans of Acura can also keep an eye out for Red Bull Racing's and its feeder squad AlphaTauri's Honda-powered vehicles. This weekend, Acura branding will be on the vehicles of both teams.

With 262.5 points, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen leads the 2021 Drivers' Championship heading into Saturday's qualifying session and Sunday's race. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes-Benz AMG is in second place with 256.5 points, and Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes is in third place with 177 points. With 433.5 points, Mercedes leads the Constructor's Championship, followed by Red Bull with 397.5 points and McLaren with 240 points. Bottas, who was racing for Mercedes, won the last race in 2019.
