Formula One British Grand Prix 2020 What to Watch

The 75th British Grand Prix, the first of two back-to-back races to be staged at Silverstone in as many weeks, brings the Formula One circus back to the lush fields of Silverstone after a two-week respite after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

In the 53 Grands Prix that the 5.8-kilometer track has held, 30 different people have won, including six-time champion Lewis Hamilton, who is aiming for a seventh victory on his path to maybe his seventh global title this season.

And after Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix last time out with an absolutely dominant performance, he and his unrelenting Mercedes team are hoping to win here for the sixth time since the new track layout was implemented in 2010.

Regarding recent years, Ferrari's 13 Silverstone victories are nothing to be awed by; their last two triumphs in Northamptonshire were in 2011 with Fernando Alonso and in 2018 with Sebastian Vettel.

In addition, Ferrari's dismal start to the 2020 season won't be better at a track where teams will require power, which the Prancing Horses haven't had in their power unit during the first three races.

This has also affected their Alfa Romeo and Haas customer teams. Both teams have had difficulty advancing past the first round in Austria and Hungary, but Kevin Magnussen's goal in Budapest was a positive move for the American team. After receiving a scathing reprimand from team manager Guenther Steiner last year, the Dane and teammate Romain Grosjean will want to avoid collision for the third consecutive year in Britain.

This year, Max Verstappen and Alex Albon have suffered as a result of Red Bull's inconsistent car performance.

Last time out, Albon was eliminated in the second qualifying round in Budapest, and Max Verstappen has usually criticized the RB16 for being "too slow" to compete with the Mercedes. However, two weeks ago, he did a great job of holding off Valtteri Bottas for second place. The Finn, who won the first round in Spielberg, is aware that he needs to win the following two races in order to catch up to teammate Hamilton and stop the incredible British driver's surge.

Although McLaren had a strong start to the season in Austria, they had a rough time in Hungary; Carlos Sainz finished in ninth place, and Lando Norris did not earn any points in thirteenth.

But since the beginning of 2019, McLaren has seldom had bad weekends, and the entertaining driver duo is aware that, with a little bad luck for Red Bull and Ferrari, they may aim for a podium.

Racing Point will view things similarly. Lance Stroll, who might perhaps be paired with Sebastian Vettel next year, finished in fourth place after their outstanding qualifying in Budapest. The team, which will change its name to Aston Martin in 2021, is expected to sign the German.

Williams enters this race as the only team without any points, much like they did the previous year. However, if conditions change, they plan to move up from the bottom of the Constructors' rankings.

Lewis Hamilton has his sights set on number seven at Silverstone, one of the greatest weekends of the year, and we get to witness it twice after his eighth victory in Hungary!
